Otakawhe Bay

If your interested in hearing the lap of the water and the birdsong all day, then this is the holiday destination for you!! Away from the hustle and bustle, yet not to far from a fabulous vineyard!!

Modern, light and secluded waterfront home is overlooking Otakawhe Bay, the quiet side of beautiful Waiheke island. It takes 2 minutes to walk down to the ocean, there is a pebbly beach directly below the house. Otakawhe Bay is a marine reserve and you can often spot Orca, dolphins, etc while sitting on the deck enjoying a glass of one of the superb Waiheke wines from the numerous vineyards. The bird life is abundant.  Fishing is very good outside the marine reserve from the Orapiu Wharf. (15 minute walk)



Close by are some of our favourite vineyards, Man of war bay, Poderi Crisci and Passage Rock. 

There is a regular Fullers ferry service from the island to downtown Auckland and the city university and a Sealink car ferry to Half Moon Bay and Tamaki campus of the university. Downtown services run every half hour.
 The house in Otakawhe Bay is 20 minutes from the supermarket and a 30 minute drive from the ferry. Alternatively you could catch the Coromandel ferry from Downtown Auckland, this goes once a day and stops at Orapiu Wharf, from this wharf it is a 15 minute walk along a beautiful path along the ocean to the house or a 5 minute drive by car.

if you are a sailor, you can anchor in the bay and walk up the track (2 minutes) to the house. You can sail directly from the bay to explore the Bays and Islands around Otakawhe.

There are 2 single kayaks for exploring the Bay.
